Install the apps

To best serve the needs of your store and your customers, Credova provides two apps to integrate with Shopify. One enables payment via Credova financing and the other adds on-site messaging to show the availability of the financing.

Install the Payments App

  1. Go to the Credova Financial app in the Shopify App Store: https://apps.shopify.com/credova

  2. Click the Install button to add it to your Shopify store.

  3. If you're not already logged in to your store, you'll need to login.

  4. After you've logged into your store (or if you were already logged in), you'll need to click another install button on the dialog showing app permissions.

  5. If you want to use the Messaging App with the Payments App, follow the next subsection for installing the Messaging App. If not, Skip to Configure Credova Credentials.

Install the Messaging App

After having just installed the Payments App, you should see the page that allows entering your credentials. If you haven't already installed the Messaging App, you'll see a link there with the message Click here to allow Credova Messaging for As Low As. shopify app install

  1. If you are following these instructions for the top, you're probably already on the credentials page of the Payments App:
    • If so, click the Click here to allow Credova Messaging for As Low As link.
    • If not, you can go directly to the Credova On-Site Messaging app in the Shopify App Store and click Install.
  2. If you're not already logged in to your store, you'll need to login.
  3. After you've logged into your store (or if you were already logged in), you'll need to click another install button on the dialog showing app permissions.

Configure Credova Credentials

  1. After installation, you should automatically be directed to the form to configure your payments app.

  2. If not, or if you've gone elsewhere before configuring you can get to this page by opening the app from your Shopify Admin Dashboard via Settings -> Apps and sales channels -> Credova Payments -> Open app

  3. You will see a form to input your Credova API credentials.

  4. You can find your Credova API usename and password in the Credova Retailer Portal at https://lending.credova.com/ApiIntegration/Credentials

  5. You'll just want to copy and paste the username and password you find there into the form you can access from the Shopify admin, then click the submit button.

Add the Payment Method

  1. After submitting your Credova API credentials in the app, you'll see a button that says Enable Credova Payment Method.

  2. If you click that button, it will take you to the page to enable the payment method.

    • That's the easy way.

    • If you are trying to enable the payment method and don't still have that button available, there's another way to get to it. (You don't have to do all of this if you have the button above.)

      • In the Shopify admin site, click the Settings link in the bottom left of the page.

      • Click Payments in the left menu bar.

      • Click Add Payment Method.

      • Click Search by provider.

      • In the search bar, search for the provider Credova.

      • Select Pay With Credova Buy Now Pay Later.

    • Either way, you'll now see the payment method with the Activate button available.

  1. Click Activate.

  2. Click Activate to add the payment method to your store.

Verify Payments Setup

  1. Ensure the Credova Payments option appears under your store’s payment methods.

  2. Test a mock checkout to verify the Buy Now Pay Later payment method is available and functional during checkout. The Shopify checkout page should show Pay with Credova Financing as a payment option.

  3. Confirm that the app displays the appropriate payment flow for the consumer.

Customize the theme to show messaging

If you have installed the Messaging App, the following enables using it on your site to show Credova messaging on your product pages.

Add the As Low As block

  1. After installation, you'll see the app homepage. It has a link to the editor for the installed theme in Shopify Admin Dashboard. Click that. shopify app install
  2. Under Template in the menu for the product template, drag the Credova As Low As block showing under Apps in the Product information section.

Enable the app embed

  1. On the leftmost graphical menu, choose the "App Embeds" option (looks like 3 boxes and a "plus" (+) sign). Shopify Messaging App Embed
  2. Click the slider control to turn on the "Credova As Low As" app embed.
  3. Click the Save button in the top-right corner of the editor.

You have now successfully edited your theme to include Credova on-site messaging.

View the messaging on your store.

  1. Exit the theme customizer by clicking the "Exit" link at the top left of the page.
  2. Open your store by clicking the "View Online Store" concentric circles graphic (that might be intended to resemble an eye) that shows when you hover over the "Online Store" in the Admin Dashboard.
  3. Choose a product in your store and observe the Credova messaging.
